Strategic planning in LD care…

Strategic Planning: Looking at Operational Goals. The Apple House Ltd Approach: The world of management and strategic planning can be full of jargon-based terms and phrases, which can take the core meaning away from readers who want to see the direction and aims a company wants to work towards. While it is crucial that our company has a clear strategic plan from directorship level, the methods which enable this plan to work through an operational route are key to achieving the common goal. Your Right To Be Heard…

At the very heart of our work, our ethos, is the desire to facilitate those we support to recover their voice.  Their right to be heard and understood. Being heard is so close to being loved that, for the average person, they are almost indistinguishable. –David Augsberger We take our voice, our opinion, our choices, for granted.  We eloquently express our needs and our viewpoints and know that we are listened to, that the other person ‘gets us.’  The notion that we could be spoken for and on behalf of, that our voice translates not into our wishes but into …

Merry Christmas!

Starting the Christmas period in true festive style was Elf Romaine, Director of Operations, and her husband, Ralf aka Father Christmas. FC and his elf drove the sleigh to each Apple House care home yesterday, bringing with them great cheer (and chocolate gifts). A tradition spanning the last seventeen years, I, Romaine and our respective families love nothing better than our annual Elf ‘n Safety visits and it was so wonderful this year to be less restricted by Covid measures. May we take this opportunity to wish you, our teams, residents, families, local authority partners, GPs, community teams, local suppliers …

Wimbledon!

Huge thanks to #Wimbledon who, through Partners In Care, gave Wimbledon tickets to staff working in social care. Together with Wimbledon, we offered a full day all-expenses paid trip to Wimbledon tennis as part of Wimbledon’s Middle Sunday event which is dedicated to thanking and celebrating members of the social care workforce. As all of our teams are so deserving, we held a ballot for all of the tennis fans to put their names into. The draw was held live on video across our services and Mandy and Sally were the lucky winners. Wimbledon provided the tickets and our company …
